Ceti Roubaix contains modern research and development laboratories for the textile industry and was built as a communal building by a private industrial company and the town of Roubaix.
The exterior façade stands out due to its clearly structured vertical louvre façade that was created from rhombus-shaped aluminium profiles. The aluminium louvres are driven by linear motors in a radius of 110° by means of the connecting rod fixed on the back of the louvres.
The distance between the joints requested by the architect of not even 20 mm between the individual rows of louvres was only possible due to a specially developed individual suspension of every single louvre.
