“Curtains for the sky” protect against heat and glare: 150 rollable, triangular fabrics under the glass roof of the Ständehaus Museum

Dusseldorf, 2001

The “Ständehaus” Museum that was completely renovated by the City of Dusseldorf is used as a media and museum building. The new glass shell fixed onto the old foundation walls has been protected against glare and heat by interior triangular textile sun protection systems.

The 150 textile systems are designed as motor-driven tension systems (each triangle approx. 9000 x 7500 mm) and are shaped as a complete textile inner casing due to the asymmetrical design and the confection of the fabrics even in the corners of the building.
